I just noticed this group and am intrigued. I enjoy Gothic works and try to add a flavor of the tone in my own writing. I noticed that the list didn't have Mary Shelly listed, another great writer of this genre. May I suggest a current work that has the Gothic overtones, the book GREYLOCK by Paula Cappa. It's an enjoyable story. She also lists in her blog posts many free short story in this genre that anyone who likes Gothic stories will enjoy - find her posts here: https://paulacappa.wordpress.com/

Now that 2017 Halloween Bingo is almost over, it's time for me to become more active here.

Mary Shelley certainly can be added, and I think all of us who enjoy gothic stories are looking for new authors! Thank you for adding!
I am adding some authors to the list. Amazon doesn't have a "gothic romance" category, so it's difficult -- at least for me -- to find the specific type of book I'm looking for. There are plenty of haunted house books under Religion and Spirituality. Paranormal Romance doesn't quite encompass the real-world-but-with-maybe-or-maybe-not-ghosts type of story either. So as I find new authors/books, I will make a new post as well as add to the original list.

Elizabeth Meyette - The Cavanaugh House and a sequel Buried Secrets. Her other titles look like straight historical romance, but may have Gothic elements, too.
Adding Veronica Bale

Ghosts of Tullybrae House
Kathleen McGurl

The Emerald Comb and others.
Kate Morton

The Lake House and others.

Traditionally published, so it doesn't look like there are any inexpensive ebook editions, but I will check out my local library.
I found a whole box of gothics in my workshop and am updating the author list.

Oooh - that's exciting! If you see something promising that is available on kindle, let me know and we can do a buddy read!

Sounds good!

It's dark in the part of the workshop where the books are now, so I'll have to wait until morning and go out with paper and pen to write everything down. Then whatever isn't in the BL database, I'll bring in the house to scan covers, etc.

I can't believe it's been 12 years since I moved in here and I **still** don't have those books inventoried. . . .
