So, it's been some time since I've had the Shelf Widget function in my blog (blogger). It just never loads the content, instead leaving a blank box. Any tips? I'd LIKE to use it, but at this point it's just misused space. :/
I don't see it on your blog page at all - have you tried deleting the widget code that is there and rebuilding / pasting new code in? It might be that one of the iframe tags didn't copy of the first time or something.
Oh - you mean on your Blogger Blog page? Right, sorry; early a.m. here.
Might be that Blogger changed specs during an upgrade? The above might still work though - deleting it and repasting it in...
I have tried doing that, I suppose I can do it again. :/
Sorry - I don't know anything about blogger. Wordpress... a tiny bit, but zip on Blogger. :-/
Actually.... I just went to your blog and looked at the source code for the widget. At the end of the correct stuff for the Booklikes widget, but before the ending /iframe tag you have the following (without the brackets because they don't display properly here):
#document
html
head /head
body /body
/html
I'm guessing either they don't need to be there at all, OR the widget (iframe to /iframe without the above stuff) needs to be between the body and /body tags. I'm not sure - it might be something blogspot added thinking it would simplify things for their users, and is therefore extraneous, or it's there so the side menu operates correctly. Since the box appears, I'd try first placing the iframe tag and contents inside the body tags and see what happens. (Make sure you get the ending /iframe tag - it's underneath the /html tag). If that doesn't work, you can try removing all the above tags and just embed the iframe stuff.
So sorry!
We've reported this to the ITs and waiting for a response.
