Help!

One of my favourite authors, Sara Barnard, doesn't exist on Booklikes and her books keep getting assigned to the wrong Sara Barnard.

The American Barnard keeps getting assigned the British Barnard's books and I don't know how to fix it.

Can someone please advise or help?

Ok, it's fixed up now. BUT... BookLikes doesn't have any formal method for disambiguating author records, so this is likely to happen again each time your Sara Barnard writes a new book (because the US author's id number comes before the UK author's).

If you want to add a book by her, or correct one already in the system, her id number is: 5057646 and her author page is here:

I've updated her bibliography to include all the books I could find, so hopefully she's sorted for awhile - at least until the next release. :)

You can also use the "report this" flag on any author's page to report stuff like this; author records are the hardest for librarians to keep up with because there's no way to search for authors by name except on the edit book page, and then that only returns a maximum of 3 results, so users filing reports is important re: author records.

Many classic books are republished with introductory commentary by someone else. How should those Introduction authors be treated?

So does that mean the book page can be edited to remove Barnard as "author" and set him as "contributor" (or whatever) so the book sorts under Tey instead of Barnard?

The works are still on. We're still waiting for the final round. Hopefully we'll have more news tomorrow.

Geez, I can't believe you're still awake. :) Thanks for the quick update - I'm excited to see what's been tweaked after everything is finished. and stupidly excited about the increased author results, lol.

(Any chance we're getting ISBNs/ASINs in the 'switch edition' feature?)

Angels: Can you please report this using the "report" flag on the books' pages? That way it'll go into a librarian queue that is likely to be seen by more librarians than this thread will be, and get corrected faster.
