Which do you prefer? Reading about the actual apocalypse and how the survivors deal with the tough situations? Or after the apocalypse has happened and established in a dystopian world?

HI New Guy! I have not read Never Let Me Go yet, even though it is sitting there...saying "read me." I really have not read any of those titles lol. Wow, I feel like I'm missing out. But The Third Policeman is considered a comedy...I haven't read it though.
