If you're having difficulty figuring out how to complete one of the letters, post it here. Other members can help you figure out a way to tweak the challenge to suit your needs.
I've already run into problems....lol. I changed some of my letters so I've got different stuff to everyone else.. I'll still post on the letter threads though, just hope I don't confuse anyone, hahah.

Example: For 'W' I've got 'wings' not 'wind' and for 'U' I've got 'Urban'.

(
Wings works very well, as you need wind for wings to work, right?

And I'm sure you can find something useful in your urban book/

We'll just treat the challenge like Play-Do. All it needs is a little smooshing and we can get it to work.
Why not add your alternatives under the letter post?
I was thinking we could have a thread where people could post their alternative A-Z Challenge, as long as it's posted before 2014 starts.
Did I mention how excited I am to start this?!! I'M 'XCITED!!

I'm so looking forward to it!

I'm happy to just add my choices under the main letter thread, just with notes to mention that I've got a different word for my letters....I'm still 'tweaking' mine actually. I want to give myself the best possible chance of actually completing one this year, lol. I've lost count of how many challenges I've joined in the past and I've yet to manage to actually complete one, (not counting my GR challenge which I manage every year, but that's just how many). This one I'm planning on completing one way or anohter so a little bit of 'tweaking' is in order to make sure I get letters that I can accomplish :) Hope that's ok?

I think whatever you need to do to make it work is fine.

And I have every confidence in you being able to complete the challenge. We'll all be here encouraging you and everyone who is participating. That's what I'm looking forward to the most: Seeing what everyone reads for the letters and cheering each other on.

And I just thought, for an added incentive you can create completion award badges for everyone who finishes the challenge! I think that will be really good motivation, if you don't mind doing it.
OOh yeah, completion badges, good one. :)
I have all but 3 lined up in a spreadsheet, though I think I'm pushing it a bit for R.
The main character does do some running away, so it squeaks by. : )

With suggestions of wings for W , and Urban for U, I just need to track down a Y.

And they are all from my tbr, so this one will help my goal in that challenge as well.

I've got 'R is for Random (close your eyes and pick a book at random from shelves or ereader)' and
'Y is Year (a book published this year)'.

I'll probably be changing a few more as I figure out which one's I'm likely to stumble on...

By this year, do you mean 2013 or 2014?

Looks like U isn't going to be as easy as I thought - I know nothing about urban fantasy.
hmmm...think, think, think.

I feel like Winnie the Pooh.
For year, I saw in one challenge where you picked a book that was published the year you were born.

For Random, you could list a number of books you have in your TBR (10-20), assigning each a number and then use a random number generator to pick which number you'd read.

The year I was born is a thought.

If you go with useful, any of your cookbooks, animal husbandry books, etc. would fall into that category.
For me, 'this year' will be the year I take part in the challenge which is 2014 but any 'this year' if commented on in advance will work, even if it's only commented to yourself. As long as you know, it'll work :) I did think about using my birth year but I probably wouldn't be interested in any books published from back then and I'm all about making this do-able :).
