So what does the group think of the theories of the meaning of Kubrick's The Shining? One I didn't mention in my blog post was the guy who ran the film forwards and backward at the same time, one superimposed on the other. I'm quite confident that Kubrick never intended any such thing, but like a lot of random comparisons, this produced a number of very interesting overlays.
Oh, if you've read about the theories then you can make up your mind; the film doesn't possess any additional powers of persuasion. But I definitely recommend it for fans of Kubrick's film. It's very well made.

And some of it is scoffingly funny, as when one guy tries to tell us that a stapler or something, just because it happens to briefly appear at the level of Mr. Ulman's crotch, is a subliminal message from Kubrick. He doesn't say what the message is, but I guess it's that Jack, with whom Ulman is shaking hands at that moment, is about to get screwed.
