I started this book on a BOAC flight from Montréal to London in 1960, and forgot it on the plane. I'd forgot how funny it was and how beautifully Jerome could write.

Three Men In A Boat (To Say NOTHING Of The Dog) is one of the most hilarious, brilliantly written, 100% amusing and entertaining pieces of fiction created under this sun. That is all.

I cannot say that everyone would give it a five, though I can't imagine anybody giving it less than three stars. So then, what is this book about...

This book is seemingly a stream-of-consciousness tale of the author and his friends taking a two-week vacation along the River Thames. Less about the current trip as it was about previous experiences, I think the real gem in this book are profound passages about the experience of life buried within...
