A great children's book
Much interrupted, this was a very enjoyable childrens book. Quite a bit of fun to read aloud - an opportunity to use German, Irish, Asian, Egyptian, and even early American voices. Daughter and I will seek out other Lloyd Alexander titles to read, and I plan to read the famous Prydain series soon.
Read this with Kinnell but gave up about half way through, neither of us was feeling it. It's a book about a kid and his talking, time-traveling cat. They visit different historical eras (Ancient Egypt, Feudal Japan, etc) and...not really solve problems? Just kind of visit, meet some people, get sem...
I always thought this book was original. It's answers where cats are always going when they seem to vanish.
