This is the revengiest, goriest Shakespeare play, although you tend not to notice it so much in the reading. Madeline's review is a work of art itself, as well as a useful guide to the plot and themes.
I am shocked, shocked, shocked that this play is officially attributed to Shakespeare. I suppose there is some tenuous evidence linking him to it, but, come on guys, it would never stand up in court. And, in particular, it should never stand up on Goodreads, which has such inordinately high standard...
