This book was so much fun. It's odd. I last read a children's book, which was very dark. Then this one, for grownups, which was nothing but fun. Until I'd read about this book I didn't realize I'd like this kind of time-travel story, but it turns out I did. I loved it.

So sad to have finished this, although I managed to string it out for what felt like ages. I adored this book. I'm a bit nervous of the other Oxford Time Travel books, as I fear they will not be so lighthearted.

This was a perfect last book of the summer. An imaginative combination of time travel, mystery, romance, and Victorian Lit made it such an amusing book to read. I loved the wide range of references to other books from cozy mysteries to classics, although it added a few more other books to my shelf...
