This was the second book in the Four Soldiers books. I'm not impressesed. Most of what I have to say, I said when reviewing the 1st book in this series. Good, but definitely not great. It was slightly better than the first book in this series, but not good enough for a 4th star. You may like this boo...

4.5 starsWhat a wonderful romance! I immediately fell in love with Jasper and Melisande. Jasper was still dealing with horrors he faced during Spinner's Fall and Melisande was hurt by an old love that made her want to keep her emotions close to her vest. Jasper put forth a jovial manner at all times...

Lovely story. I really enjoyed Jasper and Malisande's interactions. Jasper can be so sweet.... after a little training. 8-) And Sir Mouse made a very cute addition to the troop. I love that I got 3 love stories for the price of one.

I love this series so far! Jasper is absolutely yummy, funny and delightful as the hero, but I would have liked to see Melisande get some new clothes and ditch her brown dresses. The subplot overshadowed the relationship completely. I didn't emotionally connect to the hero or heroine. I had to put the book down several times. The story dragged and I had a real hard time finishing it. I just couldn't believe what we were told by the author because the actions didn't complemen...

2.5/3 starsThis was in-between for me. Not bad, not great. It just fell completely flat for me. First Elizabeth Hoyt book I've read, while I ended up liking it, I struggled w/ this particular story. It took me awhile to get to even 'liking' it to be honest. I wasn't blown away and the characters too...

I thought the heroine would be a little cheekier, given her appearance in the first book. But still a fan of Hoyt and this series.

My review contains spoilers and they're mostly my thoughts as I went with the book. This one's got 3 parts.[note: there's an update.]Slow, for my choice. Though the repartee between Vale and Melisande are enjoyable, they aren't just grabbing me the way I hoped for. Actually, the books isn't at all g...
