We all start at the same level. At some point, we are born and have never kicked a ball.

Every professional will have been taught how to master the most important part of soccer…. and that’s the ball. And this doesn’t start at the expert level!
No top player in the world today has not worked hard at mastering the ball.

Lionel Messi, is the winner of five Ballon D’or awards (FIFA yearly award for the best player in the world). The Barcelona star said, “It took me 17 years and 114 days to become an overnight success.”

You are going to have to work hard to improve as a player. That’s a fact. Nonetheless, by using this book early in your development, I believe you will find that you are using your time well as you will be learning correctly not correcting your learning. It can be frustrating and difficult to change bad habits.

I am going to take you step - by - step through the fundamentals of soccer to ensure you have the best-laid foundation for success with correct techniques. This will help you become more confident, achieve and see positive results sooner and help you take your game to a better level.

With the help of pictures, I will take you through how to perform some of the vital skills all players require. The more complex the move the more images are shown to help your understanding, and again, you can refer back to the videos online.

So if you are looking for a book to help you master the basics, fine-tune your technique or even just help you get started in the game of soccer, then this book is for you.

I hope you find it interesting, useful, and it gives you the correct start in order for you to become a better player.
One final note. Please ensure you do a proper warm up before attempting any of these drills. It is important to warm up your muscles to reduce injuries.

A study by the English FA found that in two seasons of youth academy football, 4% of injuries occurred before a game or ball had been kicked. So it is my advice that you do a range of stretching and movements before you start.

In this book you can find an idea of a simple warm up using a range of movements and dynamic stretches (stretches whilst on the move) that relate to the game of soccer.
