Fleeing to preserve his very existence, "Shiny", an intelligent alien device, (similar in size to touchscreen phones), finally escapes battered with only a few bruises, from the chasing evil Virons after being ambushed during a peaceful rescue mission....... Hiding in a passing comet, "Shiny" is tragically separated from his human companion, as the comet leaves his solar system continuing its one way voyage into deep, deep, space....... Finally escaping from the clutches of his saving comet, "Shiny" falls to the planet Earth where he is found by a lone construction worker named Ted. This abridged version follows as their friendship grows as they both get older, and the energy of both dwindle............... Returning from the Doctor's, after a routine but more regular visit - Ted softly tells "Shiny" about his unfortunate news, which makes them both very sad........ When all seems lost, both at journey's end - a magical transformation is triggered which rejuvenates them both, not as the individuals "Shiny" the touchscreen from afar, and Ted, the lonely construction worker, but as "TouchScreenTed" and together they begin their fabulous adventures …………
