Tricia is the author of many books for children, including the award winning middle grade novels "What Happened on Fox Street", its well-loved sequel, "Mo Wren Lost and Found", and "Moonpenny Island". Book one in her new chapter book series is "Cody and the Fountain of Happiness", followed this spring by "Cody and the Mysteries of the Universe". Also coming this spring is her new novel, "Every Single Second", a Junior Library Guild selection. Tricia has worked as a Head Start teacher and a children's librarian. Besides writing and, of course, reading, she loves doing school and library visits. Mother of three grown daughters (and a brand new Nana!), she lives in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. I just wasn't crazy about this book. The characters weren't fully realized, in fact, I failed to really connect with any of them. If I don't fall for at least one character in a story, it's no good for me. The voices were off. My 11-year-old daughter stated, "What 10-year-old would say that?!". ...

It seems like it is so hard to find children’s books about happy families these days. First the junior high books and now the elementary school books have taken on the task of presenting Families with Big Problems. Parents Getting Divorced. Abusive Parents. Alcoholic Parents. Even Homeless Families....
