It took me a while to get into the book. I'm not a fan of doormath'ish heroines, but she evolved into this strong person after her sister's death and her leave from her father's dictatorship.I really like Kusac and their customs. I did hate all the switching in the POW.
A great, well-written, old-school style science fiction page-turner. The only problems were some language and one brief, almost obscene moment.
First book in a series that started off pretty good, in a coming-of-age tale between a human girl and a humanoid feline male who have to work together in order to survive.
