Newly undead shifter-turned-vampire Kita Nekai is coming to grips with the reality that her cat has not awakened since her change. What she needs is a little time to adjust to her new liquid diet and the increasingly complex attraction to her sire, Nathanial. What she gets is a headless harlequin. With the body count rising, Kita is dragged into a dangerous game of vampire politics. Her involvement draws the attention of an ancient vampire known as the Collector who has a penchant for acquiring the unusual - like a pureblood shifter-turned vampire. Kita still has unfinished business of her own and finds herself deeper in magical debt. It's a bad time to be a kitten who can't slip her skin. Kalayna Price's debut novel, ONCE BITTEN, earned rave reviews and reached #1 on Amazon.com's "Fantasy Bestseller List." TWICE DEAD returns readers to a dark, seductive world where magic rules and ancient loyalties collide with modern challenges.

A much, much, much better read than book one. The mystery was better, the characterisation of Kita and Nathaniel (aka The Hermit) was better and focused on more, the plot twists, turns and drama were all really good and the sexual tension has me bouncing up and down waiting for the next book.I like ...
There are some books in the world that are simply beyond words - a rare gem. Being an avid reader, I can say that, although I have started to give out five stars more frequently, not all of them have captured me as intensely as Kalayna Price does with her books. This author has managed to keep me ent...
This is the second in this series, so I must have missed the first somewhere along the way. I think the authors Grave Witch series is a lot more concise and flows better. This vamp series is chock a block full of ideas. The abundance of them has the reader chasing after each new angle and in doing s...
in this book, my blue-haired bad kid is explored more. i became even fonder of him and his annoying ways (to kita, at least). also, her inhumanity was exposed in several moments - the notion "shapeshifters do not kiss," for example - and i felt very interested in that theme. while kita is our protag...
Kita didn't grow up at all in this book. She remained a weak, selfish, petulant brat. For that reason, I doubt I'll be reading the next book, if there is one. ... Really, I don't see how Kalayna Price could write about a main character with so few redeeming qualities for more than one book...
