Let me preface this review by saying that I loved Pillars of the Earth. A lot. I thought it was almost perfect, in fact, except for one minor issue that I had with the dialogue sounding too modern for the time period (an issue I had with World Without End, too). After being engrossed in that book, l...

Good book! It's huge, but infinitely readable. If I were forced to choose, I'd choose this one over Pillars, but both were good. I got the advice to put some serious distance between the two books, I think that was good advice. There is definitely similar character formation, strong woman, frust...

After reading this book I felt that I had read it before. It is incredibly similar to pillars of the earth. That said, I found it disimilar enough to be very entertaining. Ken Follett does an incredible job of creating engaging and interesting characters and environments. Much of the storyline w...

Loved this book. I cried along with the characters, laughed at their peculiarities, and gritted my teeth at their stubbornness. Definitely a re-read in future years.

I absolutely sa...

Pillars of the Earth was great, but a difficult read, so though I've had this for almost a year, I've been reluctant to pick it up.With good reason, it turned out. Though just as excellent a book as PotE, World Without End was almost as unpleasant a read. I was fascinated by Ken Follett's descriptio...

My cousin nicknamed this "Book without End." Needlessly long, not very well written.

Not a good as Pillars of the Earth, but nevertheless a compelling read. The characters are worked out beautifully, but because of the large numbers (4 main characters seems a lot), there are too many gaps in their individual stories.Wonderful however to get so entrenched in the wonderfully described...
