Boring, (did not finish) which was unfortunate because the story behind the book is anything but. Hopefully the movie will be better.

I found Unbroken to largely be a hyperbolic and sensationalized rendering of a true story. Yes, I believe there is truth lurking among the pages but ultimately it was a poorly written fish tale. I mean no disrespect to Louis Zamperini (he passed away just as I finished the book) or the other men det...

My expectations could not have been more wrong: instead of a thrilling story, I found a sort of history lesson, well documented, mildly interesting and informative, but also quite dull. It's amazing that a ...

This was an amazing story of a WWII airman who survived his bomber wrecking in the Pacific, drifting in a tiny raft for over a month, internment in several Japanese POW camps, and the stress, depression, and anxiety in the aftermath of the war. It gave me a new connection with that history and the W...

My crazy friend, Cindy, thought this was one of the best books ever, or something like that. I thought it was deadly. I gave up on it. Perhaps giving it a single * is a bit harsh. The book isn't absolute trash, just deadly dreck. I can read through almost anything, but this wasn't worth it. It's so ...
