Given that our “assignment” for the TBR Challenge this month involved reading an author who’s represented more than once in our TBR piles, I couldn’t wait to jump into Courtney Milan’s 2011 release, Unclaimed. If you enjoy strong, character-driven romance, this book is an amazing treat. Definitely a...

I loved, loved, loved this book and for one reason only! Finally this time around in these types of romances we got the tables turned!!!! Yes, the character of our virginal blushing beauty is played by a MAN!!!!!! And the seducer is a woman, a prostitute to be exact. A fun and a different read.

Enjoyed reading about a nerdy romance hero for once, also enjoy reading romance characters with such complicated inner lives -- it's very refreshing. The sex is almost incidental. (Almost.) Picking up #3 as soon as I can track it down.

I was incredibly excited to read Mark's book and I have to say that I really liked it a lot. I'm not usually a fan of virgin heroes, but Courtney Milan has made me change my tune with this book. The main reason that this book didn't get five stars is solely because it wasn't quite as good as Unveile...

If you are put off by virgin heroes and courtesans, don't be - this is a nice take on the trope. I loved their dialogue. Very tidy, cutesy ending, but a nice touch of angst for a pace or two.

I think one of the reasons I so enjoy the virginal-hero trope in romance novels is that there is always the question of whether he will bend his principles in the case of the heroine, something I find much more entertaining than the heros who sleep around until choosing to "settle down" for the hero...

Yes, those are five stars up there. I've surprised myself by absolutely enjoying Unclaimed. It might even be a favorite. I finished the Unlocked novella in less than a day, which was absolutely understandable, considering that it's just 111 pages, but I read all of Unclaimed in just two hours. My ha...

More conventional than UNVEILED, but still entirely daring to allow the lovely courtesan to actually have *been* a courtesan. I missed Mark's family, and almost want to go straight back to UNRAVELED (which I just read) so I can get another taste of the Turners.

I love it. A strong heroine and strong hero. Both of them damaged but not broken. I liked the setting, the plot points, the honest and 'reasonable' courtship and love that developed between Miranda and Smite. A few little things, Miranda accepting the financial 'deal' of being Smite's for a month. B...
