Uncovering UT is the class project of the JEM 499 Business and Future of Journalism course (Fall 2015) in the School of Journalism and Electronic Media at the University of Tennessee. This book project is designed to give the seniors in the journalism program at UT a chance to produce an interactive, multimedia book that would be focused around a central idea: what are some of the interesting things about the University of Tennessee that people might not know about. In previous semesters, the course produced only an iBook, all of which can be found on the iBookstore. For the first time (Fall 2015), we are also producing a print and an ebook version of the book. This volume can be found on Amazon, the Kindle bookstore, Smashwords (ebook version), and the iBookstore in its multimedia edition. We selected 12 programs, centers or activities, but, of course, there are many, many others. This volume includes chapters on • Fort Sanders • Diversity Student Leader Society • Remote Area Medical student chapter • UT Bass Fishing Team • UT Curling Team • Student Counseling Center • Project Veggie • For the Kids • Campus Construction • Ray’s Place • I Am That Girl • UT Cinema Club. Each of the chapters of this book was produced by a team of students, and the final part of each chapter tells you who those student are. The book is part of the Tennessee Journalism Series, a set of interactive, multimedia books produced by the School of Journalism at the University of Tennessee. We hope you enjoy this book and find out more about the University of Tennessee.
