"A Year in Provence" won the British Book Awards' "Best Travel Book of the Year" in 1989 and without wishing to be disparaging, it is utterly charming! I have to confess I'm horribly prejudiced against English ex-pats, even though my uncle is (a te...

2.0 A Year in Provence

This is a great, light summertime read. Mayle gives up his 9-5 job to realize a dream many of us have of buying a villa in Europe, refurbishing it, and getting to know the local life. Total fun.
