Originally released in 1962, the Life Story of our earth is laid out by Burton (Mike Mulligan & His Steam Shovel) as a play in five acts. I had never seen this book until recently, but it’s a gem. This beautifully illustrated book has been updated to reflect the latest in scientific research.

I wasn't as thrilled with this as I expected to be. While the parallels with the current times (outdated workers, going farther and farther to find work) this one just felt outdated to me.

Story of a house and the city that grew up around it. The house eventually sits empty until someone comes to live in it and eventually move the house to the country. Although charming, the story did little for me.

Fortunately, that is not the case for this 1943 medal winner. The illustrations have that unmistakable 'vintage' look, but they're also tim...

A little house sees the changes of an area that goes from rural to urban in just a couple of generations. Neat thing: the position of the little house on each page -- if it changed it was very slight. The house stays the same, everything around it changes. You can do a little reverse flip-book and ...

*Incomplete Review-redo*I read this only a couple of years ago and I was...disappointed. The idea was very solid, I was looking forward to it because I'd heard so much about this book. It did not live up to my expectations. I can't be sure if it was just the illustrations I didn't like or the way th...
