This was one of the hardest books to rate. In the end I think I rated it at a 3.5The beginning: ☆ The middle: ☆☆☆☆☆The end: ☆☆☆As the blurb says, Alex Craft is a Grave Witch who can raise shades from dead bodies. She's a broke PI, hired to try to solve a mystery. She teams up with a police officer a...

I almost categorized this as a romance too but it's not really. Yes, there are some relationships in the book, but one the heroine feels is a mistake and the other she has no idea what to do with it. I tried to read this author's book Once Bitten and couldn't finish it because I was on the verge o...

Listening to audiobookI neither loved or hated this book. It was a light "read" or listen, I guess. There are several characters that I'm not sure about. I do like Death and would like to see more of him.

This book is a tiny bit darker than I usually go for, but I enjoyed it quite a bit. There was a touch of humour and some really likeable characters that went a long way towards off-setting that additional dark aspect. A good paranormal mystery taking place in a slightly alternate reality where the p...

I really enjoyed this series starter, even if it wasn't the most original UF I've ever read. I like that there doesn't appear to be every supernatural race under the sun in this world. So far, it's just populated with witches, fae and humans. I also really like Alex, she's competent and smart and...

When I began reading this book, I was really distracted and annoyed by Alex's internal dialogue, and it was difficult for me to get past that. I finally did, though, and then it was very difficult to put the book down! Part urban fantasy, part mystery, part romance, the story has its hooks. As I ...
