I racja.

A Reverence for Life is small book that provides a short, yet wonderful insight into the life and thoughts of one of our great humanitarians. Albert Schweitzer was a theologian, a doctor, a musician, an author, and he won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1952: all notable achievements; however, I believe th...

"...for know, that had my assailant been in very deed the Prince of Darkness, thou wert bound not the less to enter into combat with him in thy comrade's behalf." If you loved Ivanhoe, as I did, and want something similar with more Richard the Lionheart, this is it. If you, like me, love the lege...

Not sure if I should classify this as 'read' or 'to-read.' I only managed the first 5 chapters. I tried to keep reading, but after trying for 6 weeks I couldn't go on. The story sounded really interesting and action packed, but the language was just too difficult to get into. I would really enjoy g...

There was a time when Walter Scott was seen as the great novelist of his age--far superior to Jane Austen. Donizetti used one of Scott's novels for the basis of Lucia de Lammermoor. Mark Twain decried Scott's influence on Southern American culture with his "sham chivalries" Twain blamed for the Amer...

I didn't like this book. It's an old tome and the story was of the same quality. Reading it was quite the slog as nothing much seems to happen. The only thing I enjoyed was the inclusion of Robin Hood in another guise.
