When Alexander Moncrieffe, the infamous Duke of Falconbridge (it's rumoured that he poisoned his first wife), finds Ian Eversea in bed with his fiancee, he wows revenge, and plans to seduce, then abandon Ian's innocent younger sister Genevieve, breaking her heart. However, Genevieve has already had ...

Despite some head-hopping that had me POV challenged at times, this was an excellent reminder of why historical romances remain my first love.

I liked it, but I didn't love it. 3.5 stars? I am waffling. To start at the end, it features one of my biggest pet peeves (usually found in 1990s romantic comedies). Genevieve didn't leave Harry at the altar, but she did agree to marry him. God, I hate that with a passion - even though JAL went to ...

You see, Ian Eversea is getting a little too cozy with the fiance of Alexander M...

Unbelievably, breathtakingly, staggeringly good ... This one is going straight to my Desert Island Keepers shelf. Julie Anne Long's books deserve to be at least as popular as Julia Quinn's and Lisa Kleypas'. And I have to get hold of the rest of Julie Anne Long's backlist that I don't already have!

This ... is more like it.Having not enjoyed the previous installment of Long's Pennyroyal Green series I began this one with some trepidation. But my worries were not founded as the magic had returned. Fewer typos too so I guess the publisher pulled it together as well. This story was fun, especially...

I was so so so tempted to bump this one up to a five, but I ultimately chose a four because I don't love the heroine enough to give it a five. Alex (the titular duke) is perfect - stoic, enigmatic, complex, confident, and a little cold such that when he cracks a little over his emotions for Geneviev...
