This is a very funny book chronicling the lives of immigrants in the United Kingdom and focuses on issues such as children of immigrants forming new, collective identities due to identity crisis, the whole question about who is really English and problems in a multicultura...

There wasn't one sympathetic character (well, maybe one?) in the book but despite that I enjoyed it. There were some funny, sad parts. Felt like a British tv drama/comedy. Possibly a 3 1/2*.

This was my first Zadie Smith novel, and I was very impressed. My first thought about this book was that it was very well written. I thought Smith dealt with the subject matter of race and religion very well here. One thing which really made these issues stick out was her characterization. Anothe...
