This was so fascinating! Belimai has the most interesting way of seeing the world and getting to see it through him was strange and unique and delightful.Watching him evolve as the relationship between him and Harper progresses was definitely one of my favorite parts of this book. What I really love...

Wonderfully spare prose as vivid as any riot, paced with the sure hand of a true storyteller. The switch in perspective is distracting, but also impressive.

This has to be one of the most interesting worlds I've read recently. I only wish I had more to read about how it came to be and how the Inquisition works and everything else!

Their descendants, called the Prodigals, still live among mankind, distinguishable by their black fingernails, yellow eyes and pointed ears. Most of them live in a kind of ghetto beneath the human world, working th...

Wow. This was amazing. This was true literature, the beauty of the prose still lingers with me. It's made me doubt my own abilities as a writer. It also had everything I love: unique world building in a modern fantasy framework (as opposed to epic or high fantasy), suspense, murder, mayhem, a broken...
