Rendezvous With A Romance

This is the first book in the Maiden Lane series and it was a great beginning to a series that includes 12 books. The setting was well described and the diverse characters lure you into wanting to read more of the books in order to read and get to know the other characters. I loved the male lead, La...

St. Giles in the 1730s was one of the most impoverished areas of London. Widowed Mrs. Temperance Dews runs a children's home for orphaned and foundling children, with the help of her younger brother, Winter Makepeace, who also tutors the boys until they're old enough to apprentice out. Caring for ne...

Well. I must say the...er..physical romance in this book was very satisfying. In other words, they were HOT. Sometimes you read some sex scenes and you wonder if the writer trolled a dictionary looking for every flowery description they could find and threw it all on the page. And you wonder ...

The story takes place in the 18th century London, where a slum orphanage is in trouble. At the same time several women are murdered and cut in the slum. ...

Keep wanting to re-read it! I do not want to say goodbye to Temperance and Lazarus. Although they are investigating a grisly murder, I like the suspence/regency England mix. And this is my first book by Elizabeth Hoyt and I will continue to read her Maiden Lane series.

There is a Continuum of Crazy, in Romance. Not enough crazy, and the book is likely taking itself too seriously. It's probably boring. Too much crazy, and the thinking reader won't be able to resist the urge to throw the book at the wall. The crazy continuum is a bell curve, and most good romance no...

3.5 maybe and only because the hero looks like Lucius Malfoy (as pointed out by the SMTB blog).

Not my favorite. I might read another in this series if there's one about Silence and the thief, otherwise meh.

This is my favorite novel of the series so. I know that this is the first book in the Maiden Lane series but I tend to read them out of order. What I really enjoyed about this novel is how well all the elements were woven in especially the subplots and side stories that will be expanded in future no...

This is the second time I’m reading this book and it’s just as great as the first time I read it. WICKED INTENTIONS kicks off the Maiden Lane series with Lazarus Huntington, Lord Caire (sexy name!) and Temperance Dews. There’s a killer in St. Giles and Lazarus is hoping to stop him, but he requires ...
