Wow, I really enjoyed this one. Way steamier than I expected and I thought Griffin was the perfect guy ever - strong, caring, confident but vulnerable. This book was a great mix of sexiness under all the prim and properness of the times.

Okay. So 3.75 stars I think. For a little while (about 55%) I felt a little like this:I think there are a number of reasons for this and to be honest, most of them are just my problem. There was a lot of information in the first half, I do think it was necessary though as we are meeting the characte...

Although mysteries, monsters, paranormal activity, and the like are not my general reading preference, I liked this book a lot. Despite my lack of exposure to this genre, I was able to follow what was going on with no problem. For the first half of the book or so, the romance was a slow burn that to...

I'm a bit picky with my historical reads. But since this would be my first full length mm historical romance, I thought I'd give it a go. And it turned into something I really enjoyed. It was paranormal and action packed and romantic. I couldn't ask for more, really. I really liked both Griffin an...

At 50% I was going to dnf this; I’m so glad I didn’t give up. Awesome read with a compelling plot and lovely characters. It was great to watch Whyborne grow as a character.PS: thank you Susan!

I was ready to be disappointed by this book because I'd heard so much great about it and indeed the whole series, but I was not disappointed one bit! I loved it! Set in what feels to me like Victorian-era New England in the town of Widdershins, we first meet one Percival Endicott Whyborne, an i...

4.25*I am not a fan of historical stories, mostly because I get grumpy at the treatment of woman, who are very little more than adornments and possessions and daughters are a burden. But also because of the even more prominent social inequality, financial inequality and of course in m/m the very real...

(Disclaimer: I will be beta reading a different book for this author.) The good: This book was a lot of fun to read. It was exciting and suspenseful, and the bad guy was creepy and evil. This is the beginning of a series, and it is a good setup: given that Griffin is a private detective and Wh...

This is a third part in Whyborne and Griffin's adventures. I am still very impressed with this series. I think the author continues to skillfully combine the development of their characters, their relationship and scary, fast moving paranormal plots. I liked how the plot in this one kept echoing to ...

There's a reason Jordan L. Hawk is one of my favorite authors and this is juts another example of why. I don't like historical romances. To say I hate them would only be slightly too strong. They are definitely my least favorite sub-genre of romance. Yet I loved this book.Like I've come to expect fr...
