Hank Mallone knows he's in trouble when Maggie Toone agrees to pretend to be his wife in order to improve his rogue's reputation. Will his harebrained scheme to get a bank loan for his business backfire once Maggie arrives in his small Vermont town and lets the gossips take a look?

Fun, short and sweet. Just what I expect from Ms Evanovich.
This was a short light funny story and oftentimes unrealistic. Maggie agrees to Hanks fake wife proposal so she can get away to write her book while he appears stable so his father will give him a loan for his apple orchard. It was generally entertaining but I didn't like her behavior near the end.
Banal, predictable fluff. Sorry Janet the old stuff is just not up to your later efforts.
Another nonsense romance novel by Janet Evanovich. Predictable and ridiculous, but cute anyway.
