This book is done in a poetry-like style and follows 11 different characters. It jumps back and forth quite a bit, sometimes it was a bit confusing and at least for me, I felt I didn't really get to know the characters enough and connect with them.I love poetry. I listened to this book - read by several different readers for the different parts. As an adult reader, this book will definitely stay with me. I'm not sure how much of it my students would really "get," I just don't think they bring enough background knowledge to piece together the undercurrents...
