2.75 StarsOn a tight-wire with this one. I kept pushing to get started on this and put it on the back back-burner a couple of times. The writing is very simple and stretched out. There was really nothing new here. A wizard (not enough spells being thrown about). A boy's life is changed when he is gi...

Ok this was a really long book, but when they are this good you really don't mind. I really enjoyed watching Richard and Kahlan's relationship grow and then the conflict with not being able to be together due to the circumstances. This book has it all action, drama, a little comedy. But at the hea...

I remember liking this well enough when I first read it, but it was a series that when I looked at all of the other books that followed it, I decided I was good with how it ended and I didn't need to go on.Was not expecting all the dominatrix stuff.Interesting world and the resolution worked for me.

This is on my "waiting-for-summer" shelf... when I'm supposed to have spare time to get into a meaty book. But I just saw this was like, 850+ pages. I think I need a new shelf: waiting-for-retirement.

Well hello there once again!I know that it has been a while since I have written a full on, in depth review of a book but I’m gonna be honest… I’ve had shit going on. I’ve emptied a house, flown to the literal other hemisphere of the globe, got myself settled and situated and finally finished readin...

The setting is Ayn Rand-ish & certain dialogues (esp. those in the earlier part) are pretty awful and clichéd, but in general still entertaining.

I have read this book (series) countless times. In it I find wisdom and philosophies that I can apply to everyday life. I think we can all agree with Wizard's First Rule.I know that some argue the series is derivative of other's work, but I would argue that most stories have kernels of other's trut...
