I read this book the same week I was trying to read Game of Thrones and I can honestly say that I liked Terry Goodkind's fantasy universe better. For one, the women have more power and that's always great. Kahlan Amnell is badass. She is a Confessor, a person of leadership in the realm she lives in....

I thought the story was good, but sometimes rather lengthy. I felt myself losing interest a few times when the author spent too much time on imagery and not enough time on the story. Overall, I enjoyed the book, but I can't say that I have that burning desire to dive into the next one. I will con...

Wizard's First Rule has been one of my all-time favourite fantasy books ever since I first discovered it, almost 15 years ago. I've probably read it about 6-8 times since then. While the later books in the series definitely have their weaknesses, this first one is fantasy when it's best (certainly b...

This was a very lengthy read that started off great. But, the characters seemed to get a little sidetracked in their journey that was a little longer than I liked. It went to a 2-3 in the middle and finished a strong 4, great finish. I will be adding the next book to my list to continue the serie...

? Iniz...

So... a few years back I accidentally read one of the later books in this series. I didn't know it wasn't Book One when I started reading it, you see. Then I picked up this book earlier this year, not realizing it was the first book in that same series. This book ROCKS. Not one of your typical fant...

Great story, kind of addictive, but lost points for Goodkind's writing style in places, which would sometimes be god awful and making me twitch while reading.

I found out about this series after the show, Legend of the Seeker, came out. I thought the television series brilliant, and wanted to read the books upon which the series was based. That being said, this was a great book that blew the television series out of the water. Long as hell, but great nonet...
