"Fate!" he shouted suddenly. "Doom! History! Don't you see?"This quote from one of the last chapters of the book sums up the whole book for me. Boyle is certainly a master wordsmith, but his use of symbolism and repetition, and his focus on a few themes (as listed above) felt completely overdone...
