Yoga dates back to the sixth century BCE, but it came in the West much later, in the early 19th century. During the 1930's, it was mostly used for the vegetarian and health purposes. However, it became widely popular in the 1960's, when the Indian teachers had massively started to arrive in the western countries. Just to mention Maharishi Mahesh (known for the transcendental meditation) and Swami Sivananda (famous Yoga Guru) who introduced a spiritual path of Yoga. This great Yoga master trained a lot of people, but his most successful learner was Swami Vishnudevananda, who developed the Vedanta Centre’s of International SivanandaYoga in the West. Astonishing Benefits

Swami Sivananda was a medical practitioner, and a spiritual guru in India, who launched the now-popular ‘Sivananda yoga’ way back in 1936. He trusted that yoga is a better answer to medical problems than updated drugs or medicines. Sivananda is also known to have asked his disciple ‘Swami Vishnu Devananda’ to propagate his teachings in the west. Later three majestic ashrams were set up in Montreal, London, and the Bahamas.

Yoga can get a little complex, but you can eventually master all the poses, with regular practice. At any Sivananda yoga class, you’ll be taught 5 things, that have been summarised for you for better understanding. Firstly, you’ll be taught how to perform the exercises (asanas) properly. This helps you to build a strong and fit body by improving elasticity and enhancing blood circulation. Secondly, you’d have to practice deep breathing (pranayama) which leaves you stress-free and prevents the occurrence of diseases. Thirdly, you are taught to master the art of relaxation. This helps you to rejuvenate your senses and keeps you away from tension and fatigue. Fourthly, you’re encouraged to follow a proper diet that includes vegetarian meals, that allows you to digest food properly, and is beneficial for your mental and physical health. Lastly, you are taught to have a positive thinking (Vedanta) and meditate (Dhyana) without interruption. This helps you to experience peace and keeps you blissful. Genuine Authentic Guide

Sivananda yoga is fit for all age groups, and the poses can be modified to suit the needs of the one who practices it. Yoga enhances physical elasticity, improves breathing skills, hikes oxygen circulation in our bodies, relaxes, and makes our bodies stronger. Yoga calms our minds, helps to improve our determination levels and makes us balanced. It works to purify every part of our body. Moreover, it helps us to find the path of happiness. Unlocking All The Benefits

Where Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is more of an athletic function engaging Bandhas; Sivananda training involves regular relaxation and consistent full yogic breathing. Sivananda yoga works to thrive and tone down your whole body. It is a classical and traditional approach to Hatha yoga. This yoga style has not been changed or thinned down. The teachings are preached and practised in the same manner, as originated by Swami Sivananda in India in 1936. It has eventually become an international exercise form, and is a convention followed worldwide, in the same usual format. Astonishing Genuine Benefits

Sivananda yoga is a complete remedial and curative process, that helps the whole body to rejuvenate and relax. It keeps one fit, active and healthy, and also helps to prevent diseases. This yoga form was further upgraded by Swami Vishnu-Devananda, who wrote a classic book on yoga called ‘The Complete Illustrated Book of Yoga’ way back in 1960, which is still a popular anecdote for newbie yoga-followers.
