And if you're really bored, there's my fan site over on Facebook: www.facebook.com/pages/Bill-Myers/44983396181 Oh, and one last thing. If you're a student and your class reads one of my books, I'll do a 'meet the author' 30 min question and answer session by speakerphone with your class from my office here in California. If you're a reader's group, the same thing goes...in which case I'd recommend ELI to really get the discussion juices flowing - at least until THE GOD HATER comes out in 2010. Combining elements of Christian apologist C.S. Lewis' "Narnia" series and "Space Trilogy," Norman Juster's "The Phantom Tollbooth," Lewis Carroll's classic "Alice in Wonderland," and Madeleine L'Engle's perennial favorite "A Wrinkle in Time," "The Portal" is a delightful, if short, first installment...

The first two books in this series were good. However, this last one got more ridiculous the further I went into it. I ended up giving up on it. Don't bother with this one.

Definitely not Myers' best. Couldn't finish it.

As decidedly bizarre and creepy as this story was, it also had a nail-biting climax and great writing style. I hadn't read any of Bill Myers' works in a while; maybe I should start again.

Like its prequel, this novel was decidedly bizarre as well as quite creepy at times. It was also a bit of a mind-bender, but Bill Myers still made this novel work somehow. I'm wondering where he will take this storyline in the next book.
