Combining elements of Christian apologist C.S. Lewis' "Narnia" series and "Space Trilogy," Norman Juster's "The Phantom Tollbooth," Lewis Carroll's classic "Alice in Wonderland," and Madeleine L'Engle's perennial favorite "A Wrinkle in Time," "The Portal" is a delightful, if short, first installment...

The first two books in this series were good. However, this last one got more ridiculous the further I went into it. I ended up giving up on it. Don't bother with this one.

As decidedly bizarre and creepy as this story was, it also had a nail-biting climax and great writing style. I hadn't read any of Bill Myers' works in a while; maybe I should start again.

Like its prequel, this novel was decidedly bizarre as well as quite creepy at times. It was also a bit of a mind-bender, but Bill Myers still made this novel work somehow. I'm wondering where he will take this storyline in the next book.

After reading this, I only have one thing to say: Wow. Bill Myers is amazingly talented, and showcases that in this novel. The Biblical allegory is wonderful, and the story moves along quite well. I definitely recommend this one to both fans AND non-fans of Christian fiction.

To come up with a solution that these programmers w...

This is one of those books that the whole family can enjoy. Read it for a bedtime story and everybody will eagerly want to go to bed just to hear it. Easy to use as a jump off for christian conversations with your kids.
