The Halloween Bingo buddy read is typically one of our most successful Booklikes buddy reads of the year.

Our past group reads have included:

Ammie, Come Home by Barbara Michaels
The Thin Man by Dashiell Hammett
The Hound of the Baskervilles by Arthur Conan Doyle
Carmilla by Sheridan LeFanu
Wyrd Sisters by Terry Pratchet

For new players, the rule is that participation in the group read functions as a "wild card," and you can use the book for any square.

This year, I am proposing one group read, to begin on Friday, 10/3/19.

I'll take nominations over the weekend, through 8/11/19 @ midnight (or before I get up on Monday). Once we get a batch of nominations, we'll narrow it down with a series of polls, if necessary.

The most important thing is to try to make sure that the book is widely available - it should be sourceable through bookstores and libraries. This can be hard to do, since we have players literally around the globe, but do your best!
I have a suggestion for a buddy read. Not sure, though, how many of us already have read that book:

Toni Morrison´s "Beloved".

I was going to suggest "Beloved" too! It's a re-read for me, but I was planning on including it in my Bingo card anyway, as a tribute to Morrison, since it fits into some of my squares.

I haven´t read it yet and it´s one book I really would like to read in a group. And I thought of it as a tribute to Morrison too.

Well, it has my vote for sure.
This is a great idea - I recently bought it for my Classics Club booklist. I'm totally there for it!
I'm in for Beloved!
I think I already have a copy here . . . somewhere.
I love the idea of doing Beloved, and I already have it on my "try again later" shelf. I had previously tried it on audio and found the narrative structure really did not suit the audio format very well.
Beloved is the choice by acclamation!
