In July of 2011, a short story named WOOL was quietly released into the vast wilds of the Kindle Store. I never marketed this novelette; I failed to mention it on my website. What happened next was remarkable: People started reading it, and reviewing it, and talking about it.There was never any intention to create a series. It wasn't until the demand for "more" became so great that I launched into the next four books, each one growing longer and longer, until I was wrapping up the story line with this novel, a full 60,000 word WOOL 5.I would like to humbly thank everyone who has come along on this journey with me; it has been the most rewarding experience of my young writing career. Your emails, your reviews, your comments on my website, every ounce of your enthusiasm . . . it has combined to grant me enough satisfaction and confidence to last the rest of my writing days. For those of you who suffered the wait, I hope you'll find it was worth it. This is WOOL 5. Brace yourselves. And enjoy.

5.0 Wool 5 - The Stranded
The whole series was great but this was definitely the best of them. Spent the entire time scared to death of what was going to happen next. I just finished and have such a buzz right now. Definitely has my recommendation. A more thorough review to come at the Omnibus Edition.

5.0 The Stranded (Wool, #5)
Next to the first part (Wool #1) the best part! Just as it should be in a novel, really. Great plot and storyline, very believable characters and the right amount of drama, action, suspense, and excitement!

This is a truly great series. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would want to see a couple of movies made out of these stories. I really want to see what he writes later!Update: On the second read, I find myself wanting the real continuation of this storyline, and not the prequels that come after....

I blew through this in one sitting - a very intriguing, and fitting end to this series. Howey has created one of the more dramatic, deep and interesting settings for a story I've ever read, and the potential for future work is incredible. I can't wait to read the "Shift" series next, and I'm more gl...

The Stranded, the fifth installment in Wool series of Hugh Howey is great. Sure, there are a plot holes and sometimes the characters act weird, but I think it's not important.I liked it a lot and I'm happy there's more.3,5 stars rounded up.
