Of course nothing was new when I finally read this story. I've seen dozens of variations on this classic in other stories and film. And yet it still touched me so deeply which is the mark of a true classic.
A Christmas Carol has been on my TBR list for more years than I can remember but I just never got around to it. I've seen various productions on TV or in movies but never read the actual story. Audible gave away the version with Tim Curry doing the narration, last year I believe, but still I didn'...
I've seen a number of adaptations both on stage and on screen of this story, but it was amazing to read the original version. The adaptations definitely add elements to make it more enjoyable for modern audiences, though the original is a necessary read for anyone who enjoys the story.
"I will live in the Past, Present, and Future" I wish it was possible to take a distance from my life and see it as a ghost hovering over different periods of my life. I'd know what I did wrong and what i'm doing wrong and how to avoid the consequences of it in the future. Taking some distance makes...

I think I would have enjoyed this audio version better if I hadn't heard the John Barrymore version or the Tim Curry version. Bachleor's Scrooge is very good but his voices for the other characters are sometimes hard to seperate from the narrative voice. (this was gotten when Auidble offered it f...
A timeless classic that never gets old. I read this out loud with my children this year and they loved it as much as I do. I think I see a new family tradition in the making.
Past experience told me I don’t enjoy Dickens, but I have to reevaluate that now. Even though numerous viewings of various adaptations meant I knew all about the ghostly visitations in A Christmas Carol, the original story when (finally) read still managed to awe, thrill and delight me. I’m not quit...
A Christmas Carol is one of my most FAVORITE Christmas stories. I watch the movies every year. I read the novel every year. And when I find books, like this, that are based on the story, I pick it up. I found the ebook of this story last year around this time and fell in love with the cover, wanting...
