I waited about a year after I read book 1 to start book 2, which took me four tries, and now I remember why I was dragging my feet. I’d forgotten that the series is a medievalesque soap opera/war epic with very little in the way of fantasy to recommend it as such. I got about halfway through this on...
While reading A Game of Thrones, I mentioned to my wife how faithful the first season was to the book. Aside from following the main plots, subplots, subterfuge, and the like, it was also a perfectly cast show, in that the personalities portrayed by the actors perfectly matched those of the book. ...
Yet again Martin has me biting my nails as I read this book.Throughout the book I fall in love & in hate with many characters, on all sides of the war. So much so I'm never sure who I want to win the war. Unlike A Game Of Thrones, this book was not slow to start. It was action, and anticipation from...
What to say about this book? I think I'll never be able to do a proper review for Martin's series. Really, I love it. And I love the tv show as well. I can't avoid all the feelings intermingling inside when I read the books or watch the show. I can't avoid loving certain characters and hating others...

I don’t want to give away too much of the story, so I’m just going to write down a few of my thoughts concerni...
I probably would have waited longer before reading this if it hadn't been for all the fan shock/horror after the TV series' third season finale. I've stalled on the first season (the changes to Daenerys' part made me mad enough that I couldn't make it past the second episode) and I didn't want to lo...
At this point the Starks have somehow lost interest for me. Instead, I'm rooting for Daenerys and Tyrion Lannister, with a side of Davos Seaworth. I lost count of how many times I actually said "Holy shit" out loud while reading this, much to Mr. Waite's amusement.
Gah! So long! Only complaints were Theon's character in general were so not a good plot twist. Other than that I'm glad all the Starks are still alive in this book and are relatively safe for the moment. Favorite character in this book was definitely Tyrion because of his conniving and cunning ways....
