Snyder's story is set in 1920's LA, we follow Pearl, a young woman who is turned into a vampire and sets out on a path of righteous revenge against the European Vampires who tortured and abused her. 2.5 American Vampire, Vol. 1 (American Vampire #1) by Scott Snyder, Stephen King, Rafael Albuquerque (Illustrator)
The first volume of this story moves between the 1880's and the 1920's. It begins in the twenties with the story of Pearl, a young aspiring actress living in Los Angeles. In between picking up bit parts in movies, Pearl works several odd jobs to make her rent. When she gets a big break - an invita...

The story takes place in the 1920s and in the 1880s. I must say that the 1920s portion was much more interestin...

3.0 American Vampire, Vol. 1
Fast, stylish, very nice art, but I lost (or stopped caring about) the plot halfway through. And my tolerance for gore was pushed to the limit here.
