Reading list: Sarah's 1001 Books to Read before she Dies Part I: A-G

This is my personal list of 1001 books I would REALLY like to read before I die (I may not make it through them all in time).

This list is made up of books from the original 1001 Books to Read Before You Die that I felt I had a realistic possibility of getting my hands on (there were many books on the original list that were so old that I'd never be able to find them to borrow or buy, books that hadn't necessarily been translated into English or if they had they still weren't that easy to find), books that the character Rory Gilmore read on the show Gilmore Girls, and books that I came across to populate some of the unpopular letters of the alphabet (there are surprisingly few authors with a last name that begins with O).

I have tried not to add more than one book by the same author. It seemed like cheating to include all of Patricia Cornwell's books (the ones I haven't read) on the list because I know I can sprint through them with no problem. I see this list as a bit of a challenge, so while I want to enjoy all the books I put on the list, I also want to expand my reading horizons and I'm not going to do that if half the list is made up of my favourite authors who I KNOW I'm going to love.

I hope anyone who takes a look finds it interesting and maybe finds some new books to add to their to read list. I invite you all to make comments on what you think of my book choices. Have I missed out a vital book, is there a book on here that you've read that you would highly recommend I DON'T read?

*UPDATE*
I have now been informed that these lists can only be 500 books long (could have told me that before I added the last 50 books!, that's hours of book adding wasted). So since 1001 can't be divided into two lists of 500 or under, I'll make it into three lists of approximately 333 books each.
