Surprised myself by getting fairly into this. It was fairy biblical but I liked the world building. I found the main character to be believable in her situation and I liked the various angel lore.
This book had great world building and characters. I loved all the science fiction elements that had me imagining all sorts of crazy ideas. The author did a fantastic job at providing just enough information to really hook you in to wondering how and why the world these characters inhabit came about...
I read one review that claimed the overall plot of this book is very reminiscent of Anne McCaffrey's Pern. That didn't occur to me when reading it, but the reviewer makes a good case. 3 stars for that absolutely lame ending, the lack of fluff (THEY FOUGHT ALL DAY HOW THE DEVIL DID THEY FALL IN LOVE) and because Rachel could be awfully catty.
