I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first two books. Sookie comes across as inconsistant and shallow and most of the other characters aren't very sympathetic either. It ends on a depressing note. I hope the series will look in the next installment.

Great installment! I’m loving Eric and Alcide (werewolf shifter). Both seem to be so honest and giving with Sookie, unlike Bill. I appreciated Bill’s absence for most of this book. The further I get into the Sookie Stackhouse books, the more I’m disappointed with Eric’s portrayal in True Blood. ...

Jan 19. About 40 pages in and glad to see Bubba has made a comeback.Jan 23. There's not too much to say about this one. Harris delivers a pretty consistent product. I was glad to see more of Eric and Bubba, although I wasn't nearly as enamored with Alcide as Sookie was. Sookie lusting after various ...

The first book still remains the best, though I did like how this book ends with a cliff hanger.

I really struggled with the first Sookie Stackhouse book, but I stuck with them and I'm kind of glad I did. The third book in the series was quite good fun. In this one Bill has disappeared while on a mysterious mission for the Queen of Louisianna. In order to find him Sookie has to travel to Jac...

"Finishing this book meant another late night for me because even though I was tired, I just couldn't put it down. I found the tone of this book to be a bit different from the first two in the series. In the first two, Sookie is desperate to find love and acceptance and eventually finds that in Bill...

This is book 3 of the Sookie Stackhouse series. I was hoping that this book would be better than the first two since I didn't have the tv show True Blood to compare it to. The book started off slow but got better once Alcide's character was introduced. As the book progressed, the plot dragged and I ...

I would say that Harris' did a wonderful job with this book, even better then the first two. Eric was amazing and funny, and I continue to hate Bill; so that means to me that the characters are fleshed out enough for me to "get" them. I recommend this series wholeheartedly.
