This lighthearted, briskly paced, YA steampunk is set in an intricately imagined multilevel floating dirigible that serves as a finishing school for young ladies being prepared for undercover intelligence work, and I enjoyed this second entry in the series even more than the first. The story takes p...
Sophronia continues her education at Mademoiselle Geraldine’s Finishing Academy for Young Ladies of Quality learning vital lessons in fashion, etiquette, deportment, information gathering, poison and other essential arts of the budding secret agent. And there are definitely plots afoot, the airship ...
2.5 starsMuch like the other Finishing School novel, this one grew stale for me as well. I do honestly enjoy the premise, the characters and the overall setting but the over-the-top style of writing for these books ends up boring and tiring me. Because of the style I do in fact enjoy the beginnings ...
This is another YA series I picked up on the strength of it's author's adult series, in this case, the Parasol Protectorate. (If you're an audio book fan and you think you'd be interested in the Parasol Protectorate series, do yourself a favour and get it in audio - this is one of those instances w...
For this and other reviews please visit Zemfirka Blogs. The Finishing School series is heating up my must read list with a delightful follow-up novel! Curtsies & Conspiracies is full of adventures, secrets, mischievous characters, and lessons in etiquette, espionage and most importantly – friendship....
Tl;dr I really enjoyed this book. A solid follow up to etiquette and espionage!I must say, these books are wonderful. Sophronia is just as wonderfully spunky and smart as in the first book, and I loved it. Carrying on from the first book, the girls are continuing their classes and being examined to ...

This YA steampunk series set in an alternate Victorian England follows Sophronia, a student at a finishing school that doubles as a school for spies. The second book in the series is even b...
3.5 starsThis was a light, fun read. There were plenty of laugh out loud moments but it wasn't all fluff. The characters are developing well, as is the overall story line. We now have some possoble love interests. Team Soap, all the way! Excited to see this play out.
Yeah for the reference to Lord Akeldama and Woolsey! I knew the world was the same as that of the Parasol Protectorate (only a whole lot of years earlier), but we didn't get much direct references, so yeah for this. The rest of the book was really fun to read. I really like Sophronia and how she does...
If you didn't already read the first book, Etiquette and Espionage, then stop right now and read that book. You will need to read it first before diving into this one. It builds on the first and I think it is best read in order. Otherwise, you will be stuck wondering who and what is going on instead...
