Dave's story is so horrific and sad that at times I felt guilty for questioning how true some of the events were. Nonetheless, I felt for him and admire his courage in moving forward with his life after so much adversity and trying to help others. It's a story that'll stick with me forever.

This book absolutely broke my heart. It is graphic and gut-wrenching. I read the follow-up books and they were just as good.

While extremely disturbing, with two follow ups that I plan to read, this book had me entranced and I finished it in just a few hours.

A difficult book to read, this work brings to light the darker corners of the world and the darker aspects of humanity. Young readers should steer clear of this book till high school at the earliest.
