Reminds me of Dianna Wynne-Jones, but for a younger audience. Quirky magical fun. With a strong female protagonist. Good for 6+ (read to), and about 8+ (read themselves).
Read the full review HERE!Cimorene is not a proper princess. She likes to fence and learn magic and makes cherries jubilee! She doesn’t want to be like her 6 sisters, who are all proper princesses. Her parents go one step too far when they try to force her to marry the pompous prince Therandil.Follow...
An improper princess finds a way to do things her way, even if that does mean that she literally walks into the dragon's den, instead of waiting around to be taken. And who wants to be rescued? Not Cimorene, that's for sure. I liked the non-traditional story, the characters were interesting and i...
I read this book at least 2 or 3 times in middle school, and coming back to it as an adult, I was anxious to see whether it would hold up. It definitely did! Highly recommended.
