If you want something fun and imaginative to read, then Neil Gaiman has it for you. FORTUNATELY, THE MILK is about the third of the size of Gaiman’s CORALINE and THE GRAVEYARD BOOK, and also much less macabre. The story is set up perfectly. Mom leaves dad in charge, they need milk, dad blows it, and...

A boy and girl are left at home with their father while their mother goes out of town. Unfortunately there is no milk in the house for their cereal. So the father sets off to what he thinks is a short trip to the corner shop for milk. Little does he know how that container of milk will save not just...

Take one piece Monty Python, one piece Looney Tunes, and a dash of The Usual Suspects (maybe just a skosh, even), and what you wind up with is something called Fortunately, the Milk, Neil Gaiman's latest kids' book. It's short (not short enough to be a picture book, even though there are a lot of i...

A father goes to the corner store to buy his children some milk and the improbable journey he ended up on. This book reminded me of reading Shel Silverstien when I was a child. The humor and flow were similar. I had fun reading this and it went really quickly. I also want to say I believe the fa...

An absolute joy of a tall tale told by a father who takes much longer than normal to get milk for his kid's Breaky. The usual Gaiman lunacy ensues. A delightful quick hilarious read.

Chris Riddell and Neil Gaiman are a match made in heaven. Professor Steg is the best thing I have ever seen.

This book is funny, sweet, and short. My only complaint is that I wish it were printed a bit bigger. The book is about the size of a gift book, maybe four by six inches. Skottie's illustrations are stunning, but I'd love if they were larger.

After carelessly browsing to buy me a new bed all day on Sunday, I end up with no bed and three books (I have a rule, and three is a lucky number!). Imagine my surprise when I see Neil Gaiman's new book in a bookstore in Bulgaria only several days after it's publication--"This must be my lucky day",...
