I used to dream of living in Italy. Tim Parks did not prepare me for the reality. Not much could.
I realised on starting this that I had read it before , but it didn't spoil my enjoyment of this wry look at life in an Italian village. The 'neighbours' of the title are a lively, colourful bunch of characters and the whole thing has a warm heart..makes me want to up sticks and move..

I couldn't finish it because I didn't like it. (I guess that's usually the reason.)
